Post Event – press releases

The first edition of the Run2Nowhere 2 day trail run took place this past weekend. A new trail running community came together from all walks of live. From the moment the runners arrived a special atmosphere was created in the beautiful town of McGregor and it just got better as the weekend progressed.

All the participants enjoyed running the new unspoilt and well-marked trails. Day 1 which was a total distance of 20,7km with 510m ascent, started with a steep climb and some varied single tracks but also ensured you had some great views of the town from above. On Day 2 runners were transported in a bus to Lord’s Winery where their run started. The total distance was 17km with 340m of ascent for the day. Con Viljoen, our well-known route designer, made sure the runners had stunning and challenging trails right throughout the race.

The runners enjoyed lovely Spring weather conditions over the weekend that started off with cool, overcast mornings and warm sunny conditions later, perfect for racing. Pick n Pay Robertson, our water point sponsor,  made sure that all the participants’ energy levels were kept high by providing lots of delicious food and snacks at the points. All finishers also received a well-deserved bottle of Lord’s Wine to celebrate with family and friends after the race!

Save the date, 1-2 Sept. 2018 for next year as we look forward showing you how to run2nowhere!
