Top runners were in action at the inaugural Fairtree Simonsberg Contour Trail Run.
AJ Calitz took top honours this past weekend 11 & 12 February at the two day stage race held from Delvera farm outside Stellenbosch. On day one Andrea Biffi took the King of Mountain title, while AJ Calitz were first at the top of the Never say Never Ending again trail on day2.
Sunday the famous Trail Run Greyling couple attended with Landie Greyling taking the ladies win. The overall ladies winner was Katja Soggot for both stages.
Fairtree Capital has supported the Simonsberg Trail system for more than a year and the first Trail Run event received rave reviews. Not only were the Simonsberg Trails magnificent, but excellent refreshment stations with food and BOS sports drink. Runners were also treated to a free T-shirt and a bottle of wine plus breakfast and lunch at the finish.
Saturday was a very hot day, but luckily Sunday cooler weather was experienced. After a shower, runners could also enjoy a massage and let their kids play on the jumping castles
