Meet the WCC team: Julian Veermeer @following_shadowct
Not only an Ultrarunner and adventure seeker but social media content creator and manager, Julian is the final member of the WCC team 2022. Having joined the @runwestsa campaign in the beginning of the year, he assisted to help raise awareness and support the @protectthewestcoast initiative. It was only fitting that he join the team to do what he does best to help share this epic adventure and mission with the world.
“When I first saw fellow @stelliesshakeout member @trailphysioza instagram post that she would be joining the WCC Team this year I was super excited for her. Having won @georgemountainultratrail 100km this would be an easy task for her and said to myself that maybe next year I would try to attempt something like this as well. When I got the call from her asking if I would be keen on joining this year my heart stopped! 330km in four and half days? How could i say no?!
Having just run @bastilledaytr, @houtbaytc, Knysna Marathon and @totalsportstwooceansmarathon why not kick start a new month with this epic adventure before heading to Europe to join the @Vert.run team and run the @berlinmarathon and @jungfraumarathon. So the only other question I had was what flight she was on and if could catch a lift to the airport.
I hope I’m able to capture and share this run with everyone and do this piece of coastal line justice. Helping to raise awareness of the challenges and threats that not only affect the West Coast but also the East Coast of South Africa. Having run only a small part of this coast line two years ago I can’t wait to explore the rest of this amazing part of our country with some remarkable adventurers and trail runners.
