This is the only bag that will be transported during the event\, so pack wisely.\n\n\nAccommodation\nAll runners and crew are accommodated in shared rooms\, with no exceptions. Accommodation is extremely limited.\n\n\nSupporters\n\nSupporters are welcome if accommodation is available\, and will be accommodated on a shared room basis.\nFirst come\, first served – accommodation is extremely limited.\nAll supporters to have their own\, appropriate transport.\n\n\n\nTransfers\nGetting to start of the event and returning home is not included in the entry fee. We offer transfers as an optional extra to make travel simpler. Click here for details.\n\n\nMedical clearance\nYou will need to provide us with a medical clearance\, signed by a medical doctor (and not on your own behalf). We will provide you with the documentation to be completed by your doctor once you have entered. This is compulsory. No medical\, no run.\n\n\nChallenges\nRiver crossings\, tides\, remoteness.\n\n\nNecessary kit\nYou will need the normal multi day running kit including a dry bag / zip lock bags. You will be crossing rivers and will need to keep your kit dry.\n\n\nRecords\n\nOverall male record: 10:06:50 – Cas van Ardenne (2010)\nOverall Female record: 11:31:30 – Chantel Nienaber (2011)\n\n\n\nCut-off times\nYes – see Rules & Regulations\n\n\nPrize Money\n\nPRIZE MONEY FOR BREAKING THE OVERALL RECORD\nFor the first time ever in 2017\, R25\,000/ea will be awarded to the first male and the first female to break the respective overall male and female records for the Wildcoast Wildrun. The current records are:\nCas van Aardenne 10:06:50\nChantel Nienaber 11:31:30\nRules:\n1) Applies to fully paid entries.\n2) If there is a draw\, the prize money will be shared between the record breakers\n3) If more than one person breaks the current record\, the fastest time will be awarded the prize money in full\, and set the new record.\n4) There is no prize money for the daily records\, this applies only to the overall record for the men and overall record for the ladies\, as stated above.
