SUMMARY:Merrell Whale of Trail in partnership with Cape Nature 2017
DESCRIPTION:South Africa’s iconic five day Whale Trail hiking route on the Southern Cape coast\, close to Cape Agulhas\, is offered as a challenge to runners capable of embracing all 53km of spectacular mountain fynbos\, technical rocky ridgelines\, sandy beach stretches and endless\, mind blowing\, beautiful vistas in one day. \nThe Merrell Whale of Trail event is the only opportunity each year to run this trail. \nJust 175 Entries available from 18h00 on 15 October 2016. \nThe route takes runners on a journey from the Potberg nature reserve to Koppie Alleen in CapeNature’s flagship De Hoop Nature Reserve. The first half winds up and through unique fynbos covered mountains with spectacular views of the Breede River Valley and then descends to the enchanting Noetsie Bay before turning west and winding along the rocky shores of the Indian Ocean\, alternating sandy beach and trails. \nIt has become a must do for those who have already tackled the more conventional runs out there. Bragging rights on this one are substantial! \n“You guys rocked an amazing event yesterday….. The Whale of Trail is going to become not only a bucket list run but one you want to return to again and again. Super professionally done guys!! Not only did you cover all bases\, your staff on and off the trails and at the finish showed passion\, warmth and enthusiasm. Big tick.” – Sonja Stafford-Northcote \nFull details and entry form on www.whaleoftrail.co.za
