Event Description: Day one takes you all along the Buffalo river, and over some amazing vistas, winding along lucerne fields along the way, eventually arriving at camp after 30 km. The track is mostly flat and fast for day one with some technical parts and a few climbs. It is mostly jeep and single track. Day two kicks off early and will cross some serious mountains. You are looking at some intense climbing over 33 km, but what goes up must come down, and toward the end of the stage you will be flying down the side of a mountain on some steep jeep track.
Schedule/Time table:
28 April 2016
- Arrive in Murraysburg on 28 April 2016.
- Race briefing, registration and number collection – 19:00
- Light evening meal – snacks
- Go to separate accommodations.
29 April 2016
- Breakfast
- Start of run
- Run 32km through beautiful Karoo veldt along the Buffalo River and through Acacia Karoo woodlands.
- Arrive at Visgat cabin, accommodation for the night.
- Braai, socialize and rest.
30 April 2016
- Another early start with breakfast served
- Take off for the day
- 33km will start flat but soon you will start climbing Wolwekop. This is a long, gradual climb that will last for a big part of the run, with lots of loose rock, but in the end, the views at the top will be worth it.
- Once you reach the top you will descend the mountain and have a short straight to Misthoek, where we will stay in the holiday farm house, have an amazing 3 course meal and then have our prize giving.
- Another fun filled night of kuiering around the fire and relaxing, with by now, good friends.

Murraysburg is approx 620 km from Cape Town, and approx 860 km from Johannesburg, in the heart of the Great Karoo. It is only 40km from the N1, so ideal for a stop-over while traveling.
