In 2016 The Citizen joined as title sponsor, the event was renamed as The Citizen Trail Run hosted by Sun City.

The venue was moved from Sun Vacation Club to the Valley of Waves and the runners loved the new venue. More than 750 runners enjoyed the event.

This year’s event will start and finish at the Valley of Waves consisting of three races that competitors can choose from, a 5 km wheel-friendly, a 10 km and a 21 km race.

Competitors arriving before 07:00 on 16 September will gain free entry to Sun City. Buses will transport participants from the parking area to the Valley of Waves.

Competitors will have free access to the Valley of Waves. There will be shower and swimming facilities for all participants. A secure tog bag area will also be available.
