Greyton
Classic MTB & Trail Run
16 June
Another
spectacular winter day in the mountains surrounding Greyton, offered
the cyclists and runners a truly amazing event. The cars were
streaming into the village for a great weekend in the country and to
experience awesome routes at the foot of the Sonderend Mountain
range, traversing some 7 private farms.
The
Greyton Classic is now in its 6th year and growing from
strength to strength.
The 45km
MTB is a short but tough ride, offering a variety of tracks, with
some serious climbs and technical sections. Feedback from strong
cyclists is that its not a walk in the park !
The 21km
is an MTB and Run also offers spectacular scenery, a hard workout,
variety of tracks and fantastic fun.
The 10km
worked its way around various orchards and is a novice ride and a
great run for everyone.
The venue
at The Oaks Estate is an experience all on its own. Very rarely are
we so spoilt to have such a beautiful setting for an event. Johnny
Koen had the crowd in fits of laughter during the event, the food and
drinks flowed, and the atmosphere was electric.
The
village was alive and buzzing over the weekend, with buskers on every
corner, street cafes buzzing and live funky music filtering through
the streets.
2013 is a
must > keep this date on your calender.
