Day one (Sat 1 July] – 32km. 1270m altitude gain.

Average runner to complete in 4-5 hours

Day two (Sun 2 July) – 15km.

Average runner to complete in under 2 hours. Indigenous forests and river valleys [Please note that we’ve shortened day 2 – from previous years]

Registration at Honeywood Farm:

Friday, 30 June 6pm until 9 pm or Saturday morning 6h30 until 7h30 , Sunday 6h30 until 7h30

Race Start

Day 1 Race briefing at the start line at the Grootvadersbosch Reserve gate at 8h15. Race start 8h30 from the Reserve gate – 2km from Honeywood Farm. NO REGISTRATION will take place at this point.

Day 2 Race briefing 8h15 at Honeywood Farm in the hall. Race start 8h30 from Honeywood Farm and also finish there again.

Prize giving :

Prize giving and prize giving lunch – Sunday, 2 July approximately 12h00. Great lucky drawprizes. You have to be there, for a chance to win…

ENTRY FEE:

BOTH DAYS: R890.00 per person [Sunday braai included]

DAY 1 ONLY: R 560.00 per person [No meals included – See catering options separate to entry fee – lower down]
DAY 2 ONLY – R 360.00 per person [Sunday braai included]

Branded, race cap – only for the runners entered/paid before 10 June 2017.

CATERING : please note that optional Saturday night and non-runners meals have to be pre booked – no additional catering can be ordered on the weekend

Saturday lunch – egg bacon rolls can be bought at the venue – available from approx 11h00 onwards
Saturday dinner – Traditional braai. Optional at R130.00pp
Sunday [early] Lunch – potjie – vegetarian / meat with breads and dessert. Included for “both day” and “day 2 runner – runners doing day 2 only” If you ran day 1 only and staying on for the weekend, you can pre order/pre pay for Sunday lunch on the entry form.
Free coffee/tea/hot chocolate at race village – self service. All weekend. Please bring own mug
Beverages / beers – bring your own (no bar facilities)

Entry requirements :

Participants have to be trail running fit, carry the stipulated equipment and be over the age of 18.

Compulsory kit for DAY 1: PLEASE ensure you have this. Ugene WILL check it 🙂

At least 2L water capacity
Antihistamine tablets/mini first aid kit/anti inflamotory tablets

Windshell.
Whistle
Waterproof jacket with hood and long sleeves – ALWAYS COMPULSORY ON DAY 1. Regardless of the weather. In this case you do not need to then also carry a wind shell. Plastic ponchos are not acceptable.
If it’s cold and wet weather you will also need to carry a long sleeve base layer and tights – bring it with.
